Areca banana
The saba banana, also known as the cardaba banana, primarily originates from Southeast Asia and is typically grown in warm climates around the world. There is some information suggesting that saba bananas were initially discovered in Australia under the name Dacca. Additionally, saba bananas are scientifically known as Musa Acuminata, a banana variety with several distinct genes compared to other common banana types.
They are called saba bananas because of their small, round, thick, and chubby appearance, resembling the areca nut in Vietnam. Currently, in our country, saba bananas are most widely cultivated in Tien Giang province.
